Scholarship Committee

Each year, the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to area students. All scholarship recipients must be enrolled in a building related field of study at a technical school, or at a two year or four year university. The committee works hard reviewing each of the student applications, and is proud to announce who will receive the scholarships each year.

The Educational Trust Fund, a 501C-3 charitable organization, was incorporated in March of 1964. The fund was established so that deserving young people who are interested in obtaining higher education in the home building industry can be granted assistance if they have limited funds. Well over $675,000 has been awarded to students since the establishment of the fund.

There are many ways a GBAHB member can support this fund. You can make a monetary donation to the fund simply by mailing a check to the GBAHB office marked for the fund. Also, you can help by building a home where proceeds of the sale are contributed to the fund. Companies who donate supplies or labor to the project will receive tremendous amounts of publicity within GBAHB publications. Additionally, any individual or company who makes a monetary or supply donation will gain the satisfaction of knowing that their time and money is being given to a very worthy cause. That cause not only helps send kids to school, it also helps to provide the home building industry with very well qualified and well-trained employees to the Birmingham area in future years.
